This Privacy Policy Statement is effective as and from 25 May 2018.

This statement describes how we process your personal information. Please take the time to read it carefully. You have a number of rights in relation to your information including the right to object to processing of your personal information where that processing is carried out for our legitimate interests.

In this statement we use the terms “we” and “our” to refer to both the owners of the property and the property management company.

As private citizens we do not have a privacy officer responsible for overseeing data protection questions. If you do have questions about this privacy statement, including any request to exercise your professional rights, please contact us at the above email address(es).

We collect your information for a number of purposes and rely on a number of different processing bases to use your personal information. Primarily it is the contract basis, as we use your data to set up an agreement for rental of the property.

We only use your information for the puropses it was provided (primarily setting up and managing a rental contract), but we may be required to process your personal information to comply with certain other obligations including providing information to Law enforcement agencies, the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) or other enforcement agencies under various pieces of legislation which apply to us, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

We will, in certain circumstances, rely on your explicit consent to process your personal data, including, sensitive personal data. This consent can by withdrawn at any time by using the contact details above.

Personal data we process for our own purpose and on your behalf may include, but may not be limited to, your name, contact details and and the details of payments made, as well as the names of additional guests. We may also hold sensitive data, such as medical conditions, if you request us to make special arrangements as part of your stay. Categories of data subjects will, where we act as data processor, be determined by you and as contemplated by our engagement terms and provision of our services.

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal information about you as follows and use it for a variety of different purposes and across various services we provide to you.

These include:

Names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers so we can contact you and manage the bookings.

Bank details, so we can process deposits, damage deposits and payments.

You will need to register yourelves with the Lanzarote authorities, who will request your name, date of birth, nationality, driving licence, passport of lead guests and additional guests. We use a third party for this, so don't have access to this data, but we are told when you have completed your registration.

Your information will be shared between us (as private individuals in the UK) and the property management company (in Lanzarote). We may also need to share your information with third party service providers, for example cleaning companies and pool maintenance companies.

We will process personal data on your behalf for as long as you instruct us to do so. At the cessation of our processing activities on your behalf it is your choice as to what happens to the personal data you have provided to us. We will work with you to carry out your reasonable instructions unless we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations (we must maintain accounts so are required to retain records of payments for 7 years).

Data transferred over the internet by us and through our website may be protected using encryption technologies to ensure they remain secure. Note that email communication is not considered secure.

You have several rights under data protection law in relation to how we use your personal information. You have the right, free of charge, to request access to it, and in some cases amend or delete it.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint to the (UK) Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
